Yeah, I've seen 2 other youtubers have the same issue. One of them played it again and they got the ending. So I think it's like what the name says, it's a 50/50 kind of thing.
What I've figured out is if I spam click on it in anticipation it will always crash and if I wait for the button it will play the boss death animation. Will make speedrunning harder if it's truly a glitch
