Hello!
I recently made a sorting game prototype and I need some feedbacks :)
You can play it here ColorSort
Hi milicen,
I played your game. Interesting concept, I think it has a lot of potential! Having said that, here is my feedback for it:
The font that you are using looks great. Although in the main menu, the word “Sort” seems to have some spiky edges, making it the only word to not be smooth-looking.
The main menu could possibly use some more colors? At least the title and the menu options, as they are both white-ish, and could be less clear.
I love the concept of the game. It really feels like it can get a lot better than it already is.
As far as I’ve played, I could only see one level. Assuming that’s indeed the case, I think the game would improve greatly by having more levels, maybe with more complex designs, or with multiple hinges that all activate when the user clicks on the screen.
As much as I enjoyed the game, I think it’s progression was a bit slow. New slots for new colors appear, but all the dots are moving at the same pace, and the game feels a bit too easy. Maybe some dots could move at different speeds, or all of them could move faster and faster?
I like the idea of the pause button to be part of the game and be one of the dots, but it looked a bit unclear on what it was initially. Maybe if it had a small pause icon on top of it, it would make it clearer? Also since it’s an interactive element, I think it might need to be a bit bigger.
The dot’s colors seem to be assigned at random, but it feels like it’s true random. In theory that sounds like it’s intended, but many times I get 5-6 dots of the same color, and I just have to do nothing for quite a few seconds. I think controlling the randomness, just a little bit, would improve the experience.
I see there’s a “Hard” mode, but I haven’t managed to unlock it. I played until I got around just less than 50 points, so not sure if I needed to play more to get it.
I hope this helps. I think it’s a great start for a game, and can’t wait to see how it will look like once it’s no longer in development.
Everything I’ve mentioned is my personal opinion. It’s up to you on what you decide to work on. :)
