Hey all I just installed 1.0d but upon going into the mod section (I have no mods installed yet) I get a bunch of error messages for example this
ERROR: Copying backup file res://files/scripts/actions/000wait.gd (File: not found)
I haven't done anything except download the game, any advice to fix this?
The mod system is based around having the program change the text of the game scripts, but for MacOS all the game files including the scripts are packed inside the .pck file so the mod system is not able to function. Also, recently we've had a case where that guide appeared to not work as expected due to changes in the Godot Engine. The vanilla MacOS game should work fine. The mod system should be mostly isolated from the rest of the game in v1.0d, so certain errors like the backup folder will not break other things.
Mods are never essential for Strive, though they may improve your gameplay experience. There is a bugfix mod, which is basically an accumulation of changes until the next version. There are only a handful of mods(I'd guess about 4) that continue to be updated for Strive, though some smaller mods might still be compatible.
