-when rotated from starting direction, the ship will not achieve maximum possible speed until a large acceleration is applied instead of accelerating to maximum speed as per normal
-when rotated from starting direction with a large acceleration applied, removing the acceleration will cause the ship to decelerate to a smaller constant velocity, despite the absence of a force causing it to do so
