Hi, I'm kind of new to being a game dev(about 3 months) and after the gmtk game jam I finally decided to make my own project a cuphead x terraria game. I love the boss designs in cuphead and I enjoyed playing terraria but when you get wings the game gets way better combat wise in my opinion.

The first thing I did was design the protagonist and it just made sense to make her an angel I even added a little halo on top of her head. So are I only made her idle animations and basic movement. After movement I went straight into making her projectiles but then when I saw how some tutorials add a gun to the player and make it circle around the player I decided to make what id call a cross between a bow and a crescent moon. Oh and lastly the bosses will be the astrology signs.

So i was working on the combat for a couple of hours and I finally made it work 90% I even added a trail renderer to my character and to SOME of the feather projectiles. I really don't know why all my feathers arent rendered. So tomorrow ill probably work on the environment and or a dash ability and maybe a boss design or concept.

So today was a pretty good day except for the fact that I spent hours just getting a dash system to work which I finally did and was really proud of not giving up. Tomorrow ill make the dashing look good and then ill switch to the envirnment.

Hey, I'm back and I thought I could do daily progress but life happened and I had to stop for a couple of days BUT I have redone the player sprite and added a couple of effects to the player and environment.  While I'm on the topic of environments I made all the clouds and mountains needed and I'm redoing the shooting so the player could have multiple range weapons. I don't know how close I want to lean into terraria's combat though.
