What is the object of the game??

I've been looking over the rules and it's describing like scenarios to act out but what is the actual object of the game, like what is the goal? How does one win or how do we beat it? Anyone?

I'm aware my response is very late, but I just read through it myself and I think I can answer your question.

The object of the game is to make an interesting story. There is no winning. This is a roleplaying game, and not all of them have a specified win condition. Take D&D for example, one of the biggest roleplaying games. There is no win condition specified in the books. There are simply rules for creating a character and how to handle certain situations (like combat). The goal of the game though is simply to tell a story and have fun while doing so with a structured ruleset so that everyone can be on basically the same page.

Honestly, even in the roleplaying games I've played before where there is a win condition, most of the time the win condition is pushed to the side and we don't really care who wins. We still track it, it's still part of the game, but if we actively tried to win then the game would become extremely boring. It's a lot more fun when you use win conditions as guidelines for your actions, but not the goal of the game.
