Do we need to use Unity 2017? Would 5.6 do?

The base project provided was authored with Unity 5.5. In Unity 2017.2 the UnityEngine DLL was split into new namespaces and obsoleted several deprecated API's. Considering the large number of changes to the Engine since version 5, would it be alright to continue the project on a Unity 5 revision?

Hi BurberryC06,

You are correct in saying that the project was indeed created with Unity 5.5.

Personally I would follow the instructions of the brief but I will contact the organizer and ask him to give an official reply.

Good luck with your project! :)

Thanks for your patience. Ideally we'd want everyone developing on the same version of Unity. As the project is small & the base version ports over to 2017.2 without issue I think we're going to stick with that build. Should any major issues arise, we'll re-evaluate. Should any minor issues arise, it'll be a great opportunity for you to get some points in the technical coding criteria.
