I'm hosting a world for friends to play in. Is there any chance I can access an offline player's inventory? It'd be helpful for when an offline player has useful items in their inventory or in case someone refuse to return an item.

As far as I know, no. They'd need to empty their inventory into a container before logging out for you to have access to them.
