I've just published a playable demo of my current passion project which is an Adventure Game Engine (AGE) that will capture the essense of what was great about classic text adventures and interactive-fiction titles, have some modern improvements and "hot keys", look and play like an MS-DOS era application, but run on a modern computer without need for emulation, currently test build supports Windows, Mac OS (x86), and Linux (Ubuntu), please check it out and let me know what you think.

As an alternative, here is some tools that could help anyone who want, need or imagine to translate or create new adventures for the 8-bit and 16-bit machines with the same AD games style. In fact, this tools are the same AD used to create their adventures, and now are public domain.
