No trick weapon switch?

I saw a video earlier were you have to go into the menu and hit L1 on the weapon you wanna transform but whenever i do it the prompt won't show up and it just gives me an "error" or "restricted" sound cue

At least it works for me Hitting L1 while in the menu on the weapon selection..

did you have to pick up an item in the hunters dream? like how the bullet blood trasfusion is a seperate item?

you have to go to the place where you can upgrade your weapons (it requires 1 Madness) and there´s the option, if you dont make this it won´t work earlier
