Question: are there plans for some kind of sandbox mode without the obligatory missions, just random missions to see how long you last until your ship goes kaboom?
Yes, this is planned and should come with an update in a week or two. It will be an endless mode where the story missions are disabled and the difficulty gets increasingly harder. It's likely that we'll add a highscore table for this mode.
