Hi,
Baa is a game about politics and sheep. Now, if you want to make a game about sheep, it's OK, but if you want to mention politics in a game, things can get tough. Which is understandable, since nobody want to be hunted down by the government - hence, we created a fictional setting, where a politician tries to appeal some sheep with promises, so they are kept happy.
We feel that this attitude of avoiding making politic games represents a missed opportunity. The opportunity to share your opinion, to interact with other people on important matters, to educate and learn. We hope that people will take some time to play with our game and perhaps find some tangents with real life - not with persons - but with situations.
Grasshoperz and I decided to make a game about the lies the said politician says. It is a common situation that politicians lie - in a very specific way : They promise to the sheep what they like to hear, even if they know that they will not do anything. Sheep want to hear specific things : Education improvement, tax cut e.t.c. Politicians usually do the opposite, but this is another story.
What happens in a politician's mind when they address sheep ? They think what to say next - and two thoughts come into their minds - one that will make the sheep happy and one that will make them angry. Your job is to choose what is more likely to make the sheep happy - fast, because nobody likes politicians that speak slow ! There is a timer in the upper right corner that indicates how much time you have to choose the right replica.
If you choose the right one, you get 1 point. If you choose two wrong replicas in a row, you lose one life. Points will become important in a future version because they will permit you to unlock new characters. When you lose, a meter shows you your skills in lying - try to improve them by playing more :)
