butler not working, win-64

After downloading (win64-stable) and unzipping, the "butler.exe" just does nothing. I can see a cmd-like window popping for a fraction of a second and that's it.
I tried to download it via itch-app, but still nothing. App says it's installed, but launching it from the app does nada.

I checked "butler -V" with cmd.exe and it does not recognize such a thing.

Hey there,

“butler” is a command line tool. If you run it by double clicking it, it will just print some usage information, and windows will close the terminal, as it thinks it is done.

You should open a terminal, add the “butler” executable to your “PATH”, and use it from any terminal you open. At least that’s how it is intended to be used.

If you are not familiar with using a terminal, there’s a lot of material online.

Hope that helps :)

No, I am not used to command line tools, and I struggle a lot. I like interfaces :)

I didn't know what is "path" in this context, but I figured out already. Now it works.

Thanks for the help!

EDIT: I just stumbled upon on GUI-butler. I'll check this out if that is more suitable for a dude like me :)
