Heard this song again for the first time in a long time. The lyrics make me think of Keisuke in a way, and the struggle he faces with his family. I haven't finished the route yet, but I still think it's fitting.

After playing through the rest of the current demos of the other routes, one song comes to mind as an overall theme. While Yuuichi doesn't really fathom the depth of support he gets from his family, friends, and peers, I like to think that, at some point, he will have an epiphany and humbly give credit where it's due. This is especially prevalent in the Jun route.
I think this song is a heartfelt expression of the sorrow Misaki (Yuuichi's mom) feels every day since the passing of her husband. I can imagine this playing in the background every morning and every evening when she prays at the shrine at home. While it seems Yuuichi doesn't appreciate the magnitude of the impact that his father had on the family dynamic, mother definitely knows best.
To hopefully better answer the question posed by "the guy who asked" above, I think this particular song is a deep expression of the feelings Shoichi has for his childhood friend turned young adult crush, Yuuichi. Shoichi has had nothing but unashamed sincere feelings toward his friend from Day One, and those feelings have blossomed into something we could only wish we had from another into that age.
While I have not a single clue how any of the routes will pan out, this song is a pretty good guess at the general feeling I have about the story arcs. With the exception of Jun's route, it seems apparent that Yuuichi's life path will take a turn leading away from home...or will it? Jun's route has me ten kinds of f*cked up right now and I cry like a little b*tch when I think about it. In any case, they all have their moment in The Dance.
(9/6/2023 NOTE: for whatever reason, the version I originally posted here is being taken down all over Youtube, so this will have to do.)
I listened to this song again after not having heard it in a while, and for me it brought to mind the relationship dynamic between Shoichi and his father. Along the same parallel, it could also apply to Keisuke and his father. Parental hopes and expectations forced upon one who was given no choice in the matter, reinforced by a modern practical application of what appears to be indentured servitude. I hope our husbandos find their courage by the end.
