Virtual camera option?

I first want to say thank you for responding to my previous post about the props! I appreciate the fast response time. I was wondering if you would look into having the app have a virtual camera option. For me, OBS has issues with game capture, which is your current method of capturing the app (essentially, any time I use game capture on anything, the application which I'm trying to capture crashes. I'm assuming this is because I am using Windows 8.1 but I cannot be certain that's the only reason). Since I've been having issues with game capture, I try to use virtual camera to get the live capture of an application and chroma key out the background, or use display capture which requires the app in question to be on top and visible at all times to me, taking up already limited screen space (window capture for me does not update any changes of the window, which defeats the point of an application like this). I don't know how many other people also have this problem with OBS or if it is mainly because I'm using such an old version of Windows (or something else entirely), but if this is something others also experience, I was wondering if you'd be looking into adding a virtual camera to your app.

Can you explain how that works in OBS so I can look into it and test it? When the application is working as a virtual camera, what scene source type do you add it as in OBS?

When a virtual camera is made in a program like VSeeFace it makes the vtuber area act like a camera without the UI and with custom backgrounds. It lets us use them in calls and collabs easier too. The OBS Source is Video Capture Device rather than window capture.

Thanks, that helps. I'll see if I can implement one for a quick update this weekend.

v0.1.8a is out now with a virtual camera option! Download the new version, go to the gear menu and hit the virtual camera checkbox, then add the source as a new video capture device in your capture program!
