I may be mistaken but I think I've encountered this problem long ago and got a fix, but I can't seem to find it.

By all that is holy, I am a moron. I just had to type words and press enter and it saves the game.

In my defense, the first game had a huge SAVE button for morons like me, and this one don't. Soooo...
