Hello, I was wondering if you have to use the master servers to play multiplayer or can you host it yourself and connect directly via ip address? (I can port forward and all of that)

Hello schemesmith! Sorry for the extremely delayed response. Unfortunately the current online system relies on the master server for matchmaking purposes although we would like to add a direct connection option in the future along with updating the online features in general. Stay slimy and sorry about that.
