Hey there! This a four week prototype inspired by the 1- bit 'dither-punk' aesthetic of early pixel graphics. The game takes on the detective fiction subgenre and mashes together mystery and comedy to form our own take on comedy noir. Please playtest and we hope you enjoy this project of ours! :)

Name of System: The Truth is...WHAT?!
Number of Players: 1
Approximate Session Length: 15 - 30 mins
Testing Period: 12/12/2022 - 12/16/2022
Other Details: What we hope to further explore through this prototype is how to incorporate a combination of noir style and comedy to emphasize the detective narrative and 1-bit 'dither-punk' visual style of the game.
How To Contact: Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Feel free to post a comment under the game.

The game link doesn't seem to work. Could you send a new link?

Did the link work?

No, it gave me an error.

The twine page was blank with red mark indicating: There is no story with ID "c2c955cf-c919-4373-86a3-bdcefb1315f8". I've tried it on another device and it also gave me same issue.

Is there a way for me to send the game to through discord?

If the file itself is larger than the discord sharing limit, it might not send. Have you tested the link on another device and did it work? In my experience I've always published my Twines as an html file and then shared it. You could also just create a new Itch project and attach the Twine as a zipped html file (setting it to running in browser or as a downloadable file) and then restrict the visibility and access to an Itch link.

Yeah, I sent it to discord and people have no trouble playing the game. But I'll try to post on Itch.io

Just in case there are issues with the Itch.

Yet, scrolling on the game's page without starting the adventure ...maybe be less flickery by black 'n white background?

(As opinion, just by the graphics)
The right-sided images look like crimestories as detective to adventure through levels, solving mysteries, with quests and maybe cutscenes to expect?

But I can't testplay download-versions, would a screenshare on opensource's "systemi"? That feat. texting but visuals or audio, like "zoom" or VC for discord too.
