Mildly important questions.

Heyo, not posting another big ol thread, so don't worry lol. Just a few questions about the steam version of the game.

#1: Will the itch version still get the updates after the steam version drops?

#2: Will the two versions be cross compatible in terms of the in game matchfinding?

#3: Will it have any additional features or content if they are fully compatible?

I really don't wanna download steam. It takes up wayyyyyyy too much space, and all the games I used to play on it don't run on my poor little laptop anymore. I'd be redownloading it just for this and that'd kinda suck. I use this thing for school so I have a lot of stuff I store like assignments and whatnot.

Steam is also a big performance sink and I already struggle to run this game after a few games. I usually have to close the game after a few matches and then sleep my computer for a bit and let it rest to get my FPS back. Poor frames is playable but it kinda sucks. It'd be even worse with steam running in the background. Especially since you cannot close steam without closing all steam games.

In an optimal world I'd hope that the steam version is just the means to get automatic updates to the game and maybe play beta builds, as well as an easier way to match up with steam friends, and obviously easier mod installation via workshop. I can live without all of these things, if the itch version continues to be updated. If you can manage this, I and I'm sure many others would be very grateful.

1. probably not

2. probably not

3. see above

unfortunately i will be focusing on moving to steam because the server costs are too high, and the netplay experience will be far better. itch build will stay playable, and i plan to release the server software.
