Last year I started building a 7DRL from scratch and got bogged down in engine details and never had anything really playable, so I opted for Godot this time. Pretty excited to focus on the game instead of the engine. I've got a basic map, input, movement, and blocked out UI today. I'm trying to maximize the weekend since I know I'll struggle to find time during the work week. Pretty rough but here's a brief preview:
I'm using MidJourney to help generate some of the art and Photopea to adjust to fit my goals but I have no design eye so I'm just going to live with it looking like trash.
