Help a teacher?

HI, there!

I'm a technology teacher who wants to use this in my Brooklyn public school and to promote this to other schools.

Silly question, but does the Google Play option work with a Chrome browser? We have iPads, but it would be amazing if we could somehow use this within a browser. Thanks!

Best regards,

Lee

Hi Lee,

Thank you for showing interest in Code Adventures!

I did some small research and unfortunately did not find an easy solution to play Google Play Games from your browser. The only thing I found was a Chrome extension that for some reason was discontinued.

In case you are using Windows computers you could also try the Windows version of Code Adventures https://www.microsoft.com/en-sb/p/code-adventures-coding-puzzles-for-kids/9nwmtn...

I hope that I was able to help.

Best wishes,

Daniel

Hi,

Unfortunately, we only have Mac desktops.

I realize that what I'm going to suggest is highly unlikely, but would you be able to create a browser-based version with a link that would be used by our school only? One itch.io developer did this for us before.

Thanks,

Lee

Hi,

I can try this for you and see if it works but I am also a bit doubtful because the engine the game uses ( Solar2D ) became open source a few years ago and the support for HTML never left the Beta stage. I will post here my attempt results.

On a brighter note I am working on Code Adventures 2 with Unity3D so it will have a wider platform support but it is also a long way from being finished. ^^

If you can please try for me, that's all that I can reasonably ask. Please let me know how it shakes out. And I'd love to try CA2 whenever it's done!

Hey Lee,

I tried building Code Adventures for HTML but when I start it it's just a white screen and does not show any relevant error messages so I am not even sure if the problem is on my side or on the engine's side.

Unfortunately,  I won't be able to spend more time investigating this.

Best wishes,

Daniel

HI,

Just following up on this. For what it's worth, our Macs do work with Solar 2D, which I know was a concern of yours. Any chance of a hosted/browser-based version now?

Thanks!

Lee

A while back you mentioned working on Code Adventures 2 in Unity. How is that progressing?
