Hello there Fellow  Templars! it is I! Templar Shamono and graced upon this glory too unravel this mystery of my questions!

I've playing the game a total of 12 hours straight in a day! struggling a lot, but I managed to overcome them with armed knowledge of playing the older versions of the game! but it took me longer than I thought! usually it will take me 1-2 hours to complete the first phase of the introduction in the game, right now I had my fair shares of ups and downs, a total amassed of death I have counted is a whopping 61 times!!! dear me! it really was a challenge and a lot of sheer will to get through hell!

It took me awhile to gather enough equipment as Berserker with the only available armor is the iron cuirass, well it did block some damage managed to reach through the  Illfang Boss fight.

Anyway to the main point of this post, usually it took me several hours to remember that the game used to have an leveling systems, I have hunted a lot of monsters (all of them are kobolds in order to sell their pickaxes) to level up, I only just realized when I open up my saving screen and sees below the sprite of the character indicating that I am stuck in level 1 along with hana.

is there really a leveling system or is it broken? no wonder I was struggling a lot! I can send the proof later I'll just show some of my save files to support my evidence and claims.

There is no leveling system anymore. By completing quests you do get Waves, which you can spend as you wish on your character's Temple.

well thats a shocker... Now i can't get OP in EarlyGame with almost No knowledge about the game, lol.

Well actually!

there is a leveling system after all!

it is earned by progressing through the main storyline, you cannot level up by going through side missions.

Once I finished at Blackcry and TOB My characterand hana later level up became level 3

once I finished the critical part of the storyline, Once I recruited Gouki He is already Level 4 upon recruitment, He posses best counter-offensive abilities.

Once you progress enough in the game you will surely be rewarded with a level up, once level up just like any other RPG games, it will grants you a significant amount of HP a boost of Damage, and ect.

oh ok, yea i noticed that you cant just grind levels out of thin air.
am i correct when i say that EXP or Waves are Limited?

Yes they are pretty much similar with Miasma Wendigo that you have to distribute it carefully among characters who needed the most.

Usually "Grind level out of thin air" is not how to correctly say it but, they don't grant EXP you earn it by completing missions related to the main storyline of the game, before you reach Hioni your level gap will remain stuck at level 3 until you find and recruit Gouki which he later have 1 level gap above you.

Leveling up only gives the character a small significant of boost on overall skills and powers.

Like what Lord Rutsah said that he is trying to make a new method of gameplay by removing the leveling systems, and make more dependent on skill tree based gameplay and tactics.

EXP is not granted anymore but, Waves are very crucial and very scarce you will only obtain them through by doing missions, each missions will only give you depending amount of wave be it either partial amount of or guarantied 1 or 2 waves.

there is an example for Hana that she will gain 2 waves instantly if she completed a short side mission that is specifically meant for her to complete that is related to the storyline, like the statue of priestess of the black goat you will find in North of Blackcry before you fight the demon boss.

So any related side character mission towards the main storyline will only grant the specific character who completed it and it will not be shared for the rest of party

Regular side-quests do give wave progress. (anywhere from 10% to 50%, depending on the mission).
