Does this game have jumpscares?
Not really - skeletons do get up in your face when you get caught but it's very goofy. You can see this at the end of the trailer. You can disable this "first person death" in the options, which gives you the third person death animation also seen in the trailer.

Why can't I connect to my friend's server?
Bonerooms uses direct P2P connections in the prototype, meaning the server host must forward the server's port - 26900 by default. See the stickied thread for details on port forwarding.

Why do I have to forward ports?
For the purposes of this prototype, no relay services were used. It's not on Steam, and most relay services cost money, so I kept it simple for this proof of concept. Should the game come to Steam in the future, there would likely be proper matchmaking/lobbies so forwarding is not necessary.

Are there going to be updates to this game
Probably not on Itch, since this is just a prototype. If folks enjoy this though, I do want to flesh it out a bit more and bring it to Steam! I have a big list of ideas (more items, game modes, enemy types, etc.) that I'd love to implement, but weren't feasible for the 1-week time limit I had for this.

How many players can join?
I've tested with 4 successfully. The player list maxes out at 8 players. Past that, the game will most likely break.

Can I play solo?
Yes! Just Host a game by yourself and ready up.
