Hi there! The name's Vellv, and I'm looking for an artist and perhaps another designer/programmer to help work on some hobby games, just collaborate and hopefully make some friends with like-minded individuals.
"Likeminded how?" Well, like the following:
- Loves storytelling & characters in games
- Wants to create something more artsy than arcade-y (Spiritfarer, not Doom)
- Wants to create something truly unique in style & substance.
- Maybe a year or two of at least trying do this alone or otherwise
- Wants to be treated like a creative individual, not like a tool or asset
Some more about me:
- I work full time as a Senior Architect for corpo IT
- I'm 28 years old, married.
- 16 years as a TTRPG nerd.
- Currently DMing a Pathfinder 2e game in my spare time.
- I've spent the last two years of my life working on and off on an SRPG called Twisted RPG, but I'm taking a break to focus on some smaller projects. tl;dr: way too big for a solo dev.
What I'm good at/bring to the table:
- Programming
- Storytelling
- Game Design
- Team Leading/Organizing
- Figuring out why a thing is broke
What I'm bad at/need help with:
- Art (2D & 3D alike)
- Animation
- Shaders/VFX (though I'm planning on learning)
OK, what's my concept?:
See, that's the thing. I'm having issues finding one that feels 'doable' right now with my lack of art skills. All I want is to be able to design a game where the storytelling can go hand in hand with the gameplay, and which fits within the scope of what people can do.
Fine, I'm interested. What do?
If you wanna chat about collaborating, feel free to reach out via my Discord DMs (ID: vellvsagewalk)! Fair warning, though, I'll want to chat ahead of time (like VC if I can) to see if there's good chemistry & at least some skill 😅. If you've got a portfolio, please share it ^^
And as a heads up: I'm planning on limiting the number of people I'm working with to like...three or four, max (If I somehow get lots of DMs).
