Animal City - Devlog #1

I'm sharing my first update here on my game "Animal City" which is a temporray name, as my game draws a clear inspiration from a game like Animal Crossing but is different in a lot of ways. The premise of this game is you arrive on an island much like other games in this genre, and you have to build up a city from scratch. At first you can just build basic scrucures out of wood and stone, as well as only being able to craft basic things like a crafting table, fire, etc.. As you start setting up buildings in the first week, more villagers will start to arrive, wtih core villagers like the Scientist showing up, the scientist will allow you to research new things by collecting new materials/items and completing quests. Eventually you'll be able to upgrade your buildings as you have new materials, as well as providing hydro and water to your town, allowing you to craft new things and streamline things like cooking by now being able to store food in fridges without it spoining and cooking on the stove which will be must faster than a firepit. On top of all this, there'll be your standard collectibles to find that allow special quests, and you'll have things like the fishing encylopedia to complete.

This is still what Id say is the prototype stage of the game, so the visuals are not all finished, and there are so placeholders assets, most assets are created by me though, as well as all the code

Would really appreciate feedback :)

Working on adding different crops into the game now. I've had the farming/growth system added for months now, just gotta add things like variables for fertilized, watered, etc.

I'd really love input on the aesthetic of the game. I know gameplay is extremely important and is pretty much mostly what I'm focused on, but ofc everyone knows visuals are half of what sells a game. Can everyone give input on the visuals?
