Could be me but the pacing of the game feels weird. dodging doesnt really work and it is incredibly easy to get stun locked. also dont understand the point of button mashing to recover when the rate is determined by your stats. 

biggest point of confusion is the parry action i can get it some times but the timing of it doesnt make any sense to me at all.

1) the dodge frames in dash only works against slow attacks like grabs, its ineffective versus quicker attacks like jabs.

2) don't remember if this change is in the public version, but you can hold down the button for escaping grabs.

3) the parry frames are at the start, so the parry activation window is right before an attack lands.
