Hi! We have designed some combat mechanics and now we looking for someone who wants to have fun exploring these ideas. You will work closely with our Level Designer to implement and explore the mechanics for the combat. Our programmers are a little bit busy right now so we looking for someone who is willing to take on this task.
Pillars of the mechanics:
Use the enemy’s strength against themselves
- Wind is a defensive magic, cannot deal damage itself, it is air. So the idea is to focus the gameplay on using enemy attacks against themselves (friend damage).
- Players will feel smart when figuring out how the different enemy attacks can be used as a weapon against other enemies or even themselves.
Constant flow (like the wind)
- Players will feel like they are invincible, no one can touch them while they are flowing between the enemies
Simple controls, deep mechanics
- Few buttons to remember/use but useful in many different ways and many situations. Understanding when to use them will be key in mastering the combat.
- Player will feel they are becoming combat experts when understanding the different possibilities that the simple controls actually have.
