Hello, everyone! My name is Renny, and I am currently working on a project called A Devil's Playground. It will be a horror-adventure told in a "found-footage" style, all seen through a "GO-PRO"-like camera. The aim for this project is to produce a redemption of the horror genre. (Think what Silent Hills would've done if it wasn't canceled) The basis, concept, and art design can all be seen on my GameJolt page here: https://gamejolt.com/games/adevilsplayground/387787
What I'm aiming to find in collaborators:
Programmer: Looking for someone more experienced than I so that I could learn more as we continue development and be able to be more of an asset in the programming field. I would also like someone who is dedicated and has a true love for games/programming so that I am assured that they would have the drive to stick through to the end of this project.
Storyboard Writer: I am looking for someone who can truly be interested in the story that they believe they can produce. Also, I would like to find someone I can easily communicate with at either scheduled times or certain time-frames of the day. Lastly, I'm aiming for someone very imaginative and that is not scared to change the story, even if the whole concept is different for the original, and is very willing to share those ideas.
Sound Designer: The aim for this field is to be able to produce immersive and high-quality sounds effects focused around interactive objects, environmental ambience, and disturbing and unnerving creature sounds. I want to find someone that could have fun with this project and be very pleased with seeing their work used well within the game. Horror fan is a huge plus.
3D Artist: I'm hoping to find a decently experienced artist who can specialize or just work well with a photo-realistic style that this project is trying to aim for, as well as experience in creating deatiled character models from concept designs. I would also prefer to find someone who is a big horror fan, or at least willing to sit down and watch a few horror movies/play a well made scary game, to really get a grasp on what may be asked of you and what the project is attempting to accomplish. An artist with a good imagination is also a huge plus.
3D Animator: I'm looking for someone that can work with both humanoid MoCap data and non-humanoid rigs to create immersive and semi-realistic movement characters and AI. The aim is to create animations for cinematic in-game cut-scenes, as well as animations to use with certain AI states, such as root motion movement, certain cinematic trigger events, and special AIs designed to stalk the player. Someone who enjoys the work and really appreciates the huge contribution this makes in a project is a huge plus.
My Role: I am the Creative Director of this project, but I will also (and have been) do mostly a bit of everything. I will be aiming to lead the design of the game (Piecing it all together, developing that scene/scenes, figuring out how the whole game will play out, and all optimization techniques to allow the game to be playable) but I will also help in other aspects. I am a pretty decent programmer with a year, on-and-off, of C# development. I also have experience in model creation, UV mapping and texturing, and a simple way of being able to photo-scan real world objects and export them into game assets for use in Unity. Not only that, but I have hand-drawn artistic skills and I will be able to draw out detailed concepts for characters within a day or two for the Artist willing to join this project. As for help towards sound design, I can do a decent job at voice acting and would be willing to search far and wide to provide audio files that will be in need of editing before implemented into the game. Last but not least, I can provide a pretty large amount of different MoCap data for humanoid rigs that can be easily edited and exported to be used with any humanoid character within the project. (I would assist more in this field, but I currently suck terribly at animation) To get any Team Members who join caught up with the project, I do have a full and descriptive GDD all made out and ready to go. (Though a few sections could use some work, such as storyboard)
I will be aiming to release a Kickstarter once the game has a decent playable build that shows a good portion of the game's features, allowing players to get a good look at what this project is all about. I was aiming to develop a P.T. version of the game in respects to the late Silent Hills game. (Mainly because I think it would be a idea) This direction for the campaign may change throughout development, feedback, and thoughts throughout the team, but the Kickstarter is a definite.
Now, finally, the payment method and rewards for your well earned labor. I will aim to send a portion of the fundings from the Kickstater campaign to each member of the team, allow them to spend on new equipment, tech, or anything that may help with the development project. (And maybe a little bit on the side for whatever you would need) As for the main source of payment, I will be evenly dividing revenue among each development field by percentage, all based on work, participation in team meetings, and overall contributions from each field. This will be a completely fair and honest way of revenue split and promises everything a fair amount based on each of aspect stated.
So, as an end to this extremely long and detailed collab request, you are more to message me on here anytime if you are interested in a position. You can also contact me through my Discord at any point of the day/night. As well as my Discord, I can also be contacted through my E-Mail, which both of these will be listed down below.
