EX-DRONES is finally a complete package with a lot more to offer than the previous "full game" release. First things first, the Menu. The main menu specifically is great and gives those "neon" elements and vibes (just like they said it would). I am laughing to the point where i have to make an account to play but that's how it is, an exdrones acc why not? The ui is severely changed and got tons of tweaks. I haven't found any issues with the main menu, as i am really enjoying the whole thing.
Gameplay
The gameplay remains the same, typical shoot-em-up. Drones, Turrets, Soldiers.....new enemies?!??! They made new robots and their guns and lasers are good but don't deal any amount of damage although there are specific types of robots that killed me with couple hits. The new weapons are fun and the asteroid blaster is OP as hell! I would love to see the projectile's speed increase though. I really like the heal bot, he helped me during my playthrough in the forest xD. The new wands are fun and deal a great amount of damage :D. The final boss literally i sweat my pants, it is difficult if you don't know which weapons to use and in my case, i didn't know. That's one reason it took me a bit more days to post a review. Unbalanced difficulty but if you know the tactics, its rewarding.
Maps
The maps here, are very huge and somewhat interesting, there's some places to explore and find some easter eggs, and there are Secrets hid inside the maps with a portrait of ex-guy and couple of weapons. It's a fun little thingy to keep the player engaged, but sometimes the maps felt empty. Overall great ambience.
Story
The story of EX-DRONES is somewhat a great prototype execution. I believe if there were more things implemented the story would be huge. Mr.Johnathan is a great antagonist and he's silly. The humor is totally expired milk, the dialogue is written just like a school project and it's laughable. Honestly, i pretty much enjoyed it and had couple of chuckles. In the end i assume there was kind of a plot twist. Don't take anything seriously just shoot things, that's EX-DRONES.
Gamemodes
I'm gonna be quick with this one. Arena has more waves and more enemies. Burn 'em Up is dead, Sandbox got some new tweaks and a shooting range, Parkour is not fun at all (i never made it to the end), Horde Mode is a great challenge for us, and now Horde mode++. I read the devlog about the problems with the horde mode++ and i wanted to check by myself which was an instant regret xD. The issues mentioned in the devlog were real but there's another thing maybe the devs don't realize. The mode is unbalanced. It is not possible to eliminate 400+ drones and every type of enemy within 5 minutes, let me mention that their hp is increased. PLEASE FIX THIS.
PORTAL
Portal seems to be an actual new game, with a new main menu and soundtrack but also UI. The ui and the way you change menus in Portal is pretty good, kinda reminds me of other games. Portal brings lore which i read and all i can say it's not a school project. The lore is actually pretty good and each character has their own personalities. I haven't played chaos yet, i'm waiting for a patch.
Optimization/Graphics
The graphics are pretty much okay. I've encountered bunch of frame drops in the forest which is probably caused from the hundreds of trees there.
EVILLE DLC
Exville is the horror dlc in the game. I had couple jumps, i wasn't prepared for some jumpscares but then again i got used to it. There's no really something crazy about this ,but zombie soldiers and drones are pretty much a thing. In exville you also play as the new operator Stewart i think. Multiple endings, also the nightvision goggles are very useful.
JAILBREAK 2
They made it! A sequel to jailbreak, this one has mutliple endings too, in this one you play as Kyle and there's no voice acting pretty much (someone please volunteer for Kyle voice acting). The fart easter egg made me jump more than Exville did honestly. JB2 was also okay. Overall the both of the dlc's were okay, nothing too much special, but i enjoyed them.
EX-DRONES is a great game and i recommend it to people who are very into shoot-em-up FPS type of games. The amount of content NEXT-GEN brought is bunch and im very happy of how the game turned out to be :) i give it 5/5 stars, and score 8.3/10. The weakspots were the maps and the dlc campaigns (some parts).
