After playing like 5min the game just starts to get slower and slower rapidly...

Developer

Hey, what game version and operating system? Is the computer you are playing on really weak? Would need more info, but memory leaks should be fixed long time ago.

Im playing on android. Samsung A53:

  • Samsung Exynos 1280 processor
  • 6 GB RAM + virtual

The newest gameversion on itchio: v36a_EX

Developer

Hmm.... That's weird... Did you try v35 maybe? Next week I can give you v37 to test if the issues persists, because I did some optimization, but at he moment I'm clueless, sorry :/

alright, i'll try it thx

Still freezes :(

Then your phone might not be compatible with the current game version, that's why I'm working on an engine update to make it work with newest devices in December. But the game worked for you earlier, right? On what version? Or did you buy it without testing? Then I can refund you money. But I did some tweaks to v37 that will be released this week, maybe it will help.

nah, keep it. Either I wait for the new engine or for v37. (Good things come to those who wait)

Developer

Cheers!

how is the progress for v37?

Developer

v37b EX will be released on itch.io on July 30th.

So sadly it still doing that. First 5min are fine and then it goes down to a Diashow. Hmm, is my phone too bad?

Developer

Your phone specs are fine, but I'm really clueless why it happens. Thousands of people play on their phones and I'm not getting this issue reported. It might be something with your phone model. Do you have any other phone you could test the game on? It can be even weaker. Also, did you try playing the Remastered version demo on your phone?

Yeah, I tried it on my Xiaomi POCO X4 Pro 5G, same issue. Could the new Android version be the reason?
Is there a log or something similar that monitors the phone's resources to see what's happening?
I'm almost too sure that the new Android update is causing this issue. Since the game was installed from an unknown source (according to my phone), it might not be getting the necessary RAM or CPU resources because the new security system thinks, "No thanks, that could take up too much.

I’ll try rooting my old POCO X4 Pro 5G and installing an older Android version on it.

It’s really weird—this game should run perfectly smoothly, but something is preventing it. I also noticed that as soon as the phone gets warm after about 5 minutes, the FPS drops start.

But still, it’s an amazing game. Keep up the fantastic work!!
Edit 4 or 5, dunno: Just read something about Thermal Throttling. Maybe that’s the problem. I’ll try something and report back later.

Developer

That's really weird, honestly. In January, once I have a bit more time, I'll try building the game with different Android settings so we can see if we can get it to work. Just remind me please in case that I forgot about it :P Cheers!

Oh wait, remaster version??? Just heard about it—where can I get it? Is it available here on Itch.io?

Developer

It's currently only a character creator and nothing more, and it's available to small bunch of people who bought the game on itch a long time ago, or who currently support me on Patreon/SubscribeStar. It will be available to the public some time in 2025.

Okay, I think I fixed it. The CPU was capped at 70%, even though the power-saving mode was off. It was a bit tricky to find because it’s hidden under the Battery settings. I’ve now disabled the CPU limitation, and it runs perfectly.
So all my fault! Sry!

Developer

Damn... It wouldn't even come to my mind that your phone could be limiting CPU usage, or that capping it at 70% would make the game completely unplayable. Anyway, glad you finally managed to sort it out! Enjoy!
