okay so during some point of the game the devs gave out the Linux source code for the game and people ported it to windows, that began source ports and now there’s a whole bunch, but yes there are better versions, if you want a more vanilla experience then go with chocolate doom, if you want a more modern experience go with gzdoom, and if you want multiplayer get zandromum, there’s a source port for just about anything but I recommend anything zdoom because you can play brutal doom :)
