Hey ho!
As I mentioned, I'm also providing feedback :)

I definitely had fun with the game and see the final product as an enjoyable bullet hell game. While it may not necessarily attract newcomers to the genre, it could certainly provide fun for bullet hell/shmup players.

Here is my feedback/bug report:

  • In the start menu, when you are in a submenu, you can still hover over the other main categories, but you cannot select them.
  • After getting a game over and restarting the level, all sound effects were gone for me (I think this happens if you press Enter on the game over screen or something like that).
  • Personally, I find the hitbox of "Cobra" harder to read due to its rearward position and the purple color (as the enemy bullets are also purple).
  • I found the projectiles sometimes hard to read. I think this was mainly because some rotate and some don’t, and as a result, the non-rotating ones sometimes went unnoticed, but I believe this might be more of a personal issue.
  • Personally, the music didn't catch me, but that's a matter of taste.
  • I find the Level 2 background more pleasant to read.

All in all, it was fun.
    Keep it up! :)

hey - thanks for taking the time - greatly appreciated!

All good feedback. Not being able to press the main buttons when you're in a sub menu is intended- maybe I'll make it clearer so you can't mouse over it.

I did notice that the small circular bullet can be hard to read so I started using those more when it's a line- could add an effect to those to make it easier to read.
