Engine questions

From what i'm seeing, this game handles very much like Half-Life 2 or Garry's Mod.
However, upon digging in the game files, I see the Unreal engine Crash Handler.

What made you choose to remake Source physics in the Unreal engine?
Did you not have access to actual Source?
or did Source not have features your game needed?

I'd like to know as I would like to get into game development myself.

as i know he (dev) made it look and feel like source engine just to make it "scarier"

while i can understand Source physics being unsettling at times, like a survival horror where anything could just attack you from the bushes, considering that most of what has been spooking me this whole time is a physics collision error, i find it more funny then anything lmao

Also making an actual game in the source engine is a pain in the ass

is making a game in any engine not a pain in the ass?
