Crash when exporting as PDF

  • Version of Deepdwn is 0.40.2 (the latest I assume)
  • My OS specs (I just copied them from the about page):
    • Edition Windows 10 Pro
    • Version 22H2
    • Installed on ‎13/‎03/‎2021
    • OS build 19045.4894
    • Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19060.1000.0
  • I've tried with different documents, restarting, re-installing, force closing the app. I can't think of much else. It just started doing it for apparently no reason, I didn't even update to the latest version until today T_T

Thank you very much for your work! I love Deepdwn and hope we can solve this problem <3

Well that’s no good! I haven’t been able to reproduce this locally with the same windows version.

Does it crash silently to the desktop or do you see an error message on crash? Do you see any errors in the logs? (located at %appdata%/Deepdwn/logs).

Does it occur with an empty document?

Does it occur when booting in safe mode?

Does it occur when using the File Menu > Export > PDF option? How about when opening the preview window and clicking the save icon?

Does it happen when exporting as HTML?

Could you try renaming the Deepdwn settings folder (%appdata%/Deepdwn) and seeing if it occurs? You can rename it back afterward to restore your settings.

I do see a crash when the print spooler service is stopped in windows, and probably related to this issue as well: https://itch.io/t/4120673/crashes-when-using-atlasos

Could that be the case for you?

Hi, thank you, here are my answers:

  • It doesn't show a message and the logs are empty;
  • It doesn't occur with an empty document, hadn't tried it before, but even a single character crashes it;
  • I'll try safe mode tomorrow; I have no need to try safe mode actually;
  • I always export using the preview, but it seems like the File Menu doesn't work either;
  • It does NOT happen when I export to HTML;
  • I tried renaming the settings folder and it still occurs;
  • Restarting the print spooler seems to have solved it! Thank you very much!

That’s great news! Thanks for the update :)
