Thoughts on Tower Defense Work Minigame

I want to preface this upfront. I don't hate the work tower defense minigame, and I appreciate the devs for trying to add some variety to the gameplay. However, I don't feel like this game fit very well in world. I mean having fantasy mini figures fight against bugs just doesn't feel right for a minigame based in a bakery. (Also it needs some balancing tweaks, especially in the early game where unless you get a lucky roll you can lose easily and not make any money for the day.) I would have expected a work mingame for the bakery to be like a memory based game where you have to get customers orders right.

Again, I like the tower defense minigame, but I feel it would work much better as like an in world tabletop game where you can play against other NPCs. Let's call this in world tabletop game Milfs and Monsters. (Also instead of bugs, have the enemies be generic fantasy enemies like slimes, male goblins, werewolf's, etc.)

Then as a way to entice players into playing the minigame have it to where after you beat certain NPCs you win upgrades for your minis. Like an upgrade to the Goblin to have it throw 2 knives instead of one, or an an upgrade to the Dwarf to make its explosion radius slightly larger, etc. These could either be permanant upgrades or possibly be in minigame purchase-able upgrades. Like paying coins to level up between rounds kind of thing. Then the final boss of the tower defense minigame story arc could be Tasha, the owner of the comic book shop. AFAIA, Tasha is not currently a romance-able character and this could be a good way to add her into the story as more than just a shop keeper for minis.

In the meantime, maybe make the work minigame optional by having the option for a quick workday and a standard workday. Where in the quick workday you just make a standard small amount of money for the day and don't have to play the minigame. Then for the standard workday you would have to play the minigame. Which gives you the chance to earn a lot more money, or lose and not getting any.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk, and thanks Arvus Games for making one of the best adult visual novel games I've ever played. Excited to see what you guys cook up for the future update!
