[Hobby] Looking for Partners to develop PSX Low poly style FPS story horror game

Hello folks,

first of all I want to say how happy I am that I have found this page, because there's so much information and other useful resources to help out newbie game developers like myself big time! :-)

Now about my project: I have a game idea that I put quite some time and thoughts into. Sadly I don't have the money to pay a team, nut I would be so happy to find like minded people who see GameDev as a hobby and maybe want to build a Portfolio. The game takes place in Germany and has references to it's history and culture. It would be cool to find people with knowledge and interest in that topic or even other german GameDevs, but that's not a must from my side. :-)

I got inspired by the work of Chilla's Art but wanted to take the basic vibe and ideas behind it (stories and characters from local folklore, real-life social issues as topics inside the game and of course the art style) from Japan into my own culture: 

Work Title: Der Waldmann (German word, basically means: The woodman)

Engine: Godot 4

Genre: FPS Psychological Horror

Tags: Horror, Mystery, Dark,  Eerie, Story driven, PSX Aesthetics, Retro, Low Poly, 

Location:  A fictive east-german small town and the bordering wood lands in the Ore Mountains, Saxony. 

Time: Autumn in the early 2000's

Background story: The player returns to his old home town to investigate the fate of his/her father, who vanished 15 years ago. He/she was left to believe that the father (a former police officer) left the family to start a new life without them for the whole time and mow discovers that he went missing during investigations about missing people in the local forests. The player has to talk to the inhabitants of the towns, search the whole area for clues, solve mysteries and more to follow...

The story has a few twists that I don't want to spoiler here right away. The basic bones of the storyline are set, although their is still detail work to be made, characters to be added and  flaws to be flattened out.

I looked for many references for the environment, collected usable assets, textures and other stuff, planned which game locations will be needed and already wrote down a few scenes in detail.

My skills: Music and sound design, basic level design, image and texture editing, basic modelling.

Who I need for the project: Any help is appreciated, just contact me if you'd like to help me realise this project. 😊Aside from that I need a coder, a GUI artist, people to exchange and talk about different design ideas with and also another modeler to speed up the development and get fresh ideas.

Hey there, thanks for your offer! I would really like to take your help for modelling and animation :) do you already have a page on here for your own game? I would need help with both game assets and characters. If you like I can send you some references of objects that are needed in the game :)
