Hi everyone,

I’m a Game Designer working (solo project) on a dark fantasy narrative-driven game inspired by styles like Darkest Dungeon. The game focuses on storytelling, exploration, and a pseudo-auto-battler combat system. I’m seeking a talented 2D artist to collaborate on the following:

What I’m Looking For

  • Someone skilled in creating dark fantasy art with atmospheric tones.
  • Ability to design modular 2D assets (e.g., hands, faces, gestures) for use in animations.
  • Experience with Photoshop or similar tools for creating character concepts and variations.
  • Experience creating simple 2D visual effects (like anime-style sword slashes).
  • Bonus: Familiarity with animation tools like Dragonbones (or interest in exploring it).

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Helping create character and environment art that matches the game’s aesthetic.
  • Designing simple 2D VFX for sword slashes, glowing trails, and other anime-inspired effects.
  • Assisting with modular character designs to ensure reusability and consistency.
  • Optionally exploring skeleton animations for assets to integrate into Unreal Engine.

About the Project

The game is a 2D narrative-focused experience with a dark, mysterious tone. Players will engage themselves in an immersive narrative with the element of "reset" upon failure. This is a passion project and I will be releasing it for free. Thus, not payment can be promised. Also, naturally, there’s room for creative freedom and artistic expression.

If this sounds like something you’d love to work on, let’s chat! Feel free to message me with your portfolio and any relevant experience. I’d love to discuss your ideas and how we can bring this vision to life. Ideally reach out to me via mail at: alexiosvasilakis@gmail.com OR discord at: alexiosvasilakis

Thanks for reading, and I’m excited to hear from you!
