Greetings! I'm Ysvel, a solo dev creating Grimoria!

In spring of this year 2024 I started working on a game idea inspired by the classic medieval shooters of the 90's, specifically the King's Field and Shadow Tower series, both published for psx (From Software).

The plan is to recreate those suffocating atmospheres of shaky low poly graphics, dark sounds, as well as hardcore gameplay. Grimoria will feature shallow RPG elements, with automatic leveling up; you kill one enemy, then you'll be more effective at taking on the next.

I'm currently in the fun level design phase, having already passed the technical creation of the most important gameplay systems. The project will host approximately 30 dungeons, distributed on a classic interconnected map.

Only the brave and pure of heart will be able to pass this test!

What can you do as a brave player?

  • Walk through a dangerous 3D scenario.
  • Use medieval-style weaponry against enemies.
  • Use magical artefacts against enemies, solve puzzles, or avoid traps.
  • Use potions, torches, keys, and other common items.
  • Repairing weapons and magical artefacts, as these wear out through use..., a sword can't stay sharp forever!

My first goal on the roadmap is to have the first playable dungeon so I can get as much feedback as possible, which will let me know if I'm going in the right direction. That's when I will create, here on itch.io, the game page for Grimoria

Tools I'm using: Unity # Blender # Aseprite # Studio One & Audacity # Filmora

PS: I won't insult gamers by putting an introductory tutorial to game control. I think people who play videogames are smart enough (by the very fact of being videogame players) to figure things out for themselves :)

Greetings! ๐Ÿ‘พ

This game looks killer and rather spooky might I add.

I'm offering free musical services if you're in need of any audible goodness.

Hi GLOSTX, I appreciate your offer, but my intention is to tackle all the tasks involved in the development myself..., yes I know, it's foolhardy, but I just can't help it!

Nothing foolhardy about that at all. Pixels of respect have been sent your way. I will be around if you are interested in my services for future projects. ๐Ÿ‘พ
