Any news?

would be nice, dont like to use the flatpak version. Thanks

To those interested, consider joining their discord. They explained a little bit of this there.

They "have to develop a custom packager for it because one doesn't exist on electron forge" (for the arch build), and  "requires some significant build pipeline changes to have done before it can happen."

Pretty lame response tbh

That's honestly a really bad response. The "cider2-bin" package on the AUR essentially just uses a bash script to unpack a .deb package, move some files around, and re-package it as .pkg.tar.gz which is all the .pacman file is. There's no reason they can't create their own bash script based on that and run it literally anywhere.

That being said, now that they're finally providing a flatpak that's probably the way to install it.

BTW, the AUR package cider2-bin works just fine.

but isn't it kinda illegal for the fact that cider2 is paid, and that package is provided for free?

If you *actually read* the PKGBUILD, you would find out that it's only a helper file for installation, you still need the package from here.

See https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/cider2-bin and https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=cider2-bin.

Hey I'm sorry, but don't be so aggressive. I discovered it like 30 minutes later posting that comment but forgot to clarify
