I come back to this game every once in a while, because it's a pretty fun RPG adventure, but there's a few things that always annoy me that I'm not quite knowledgeable enough with Twine to fix, and that I hope someone could maybe take up.
The first, and maybe foremost issue for me, is the unidentified gems. Not only is getting a treasure chest with gems already pretty rare, since treasure chests themselves are a low-chance item from an event at the beach, but when you try to identify the gems they're coconuts about 30% of the time, which makes actually grinding for gems really annoying. I get that it's funny, but it really sucks when you get 3 gems from a chest and they're all coconuts.
The second is around items in general, since they always take going through several screens to be used, can only be bulk-consumed in multiples of 10, and boot you out of the inventory menu once you take them. I'm not quite sure how hard it would be to make a better inventory system, but I feel like the way it is takes a lot of the fun out of the game, especially on later sections, when you have a ton of items. I do know Twine has a few ways to add text to a menu without reloading it, which could make buying, selling and using items far simpler and more enjoyable.
This would all obviously be a decent amount of effort, but I'm willing to fully learn the ropes of Twine to make this if necessary, since it'd make the game a lot more fun in my opinion.
