One of my save slots is glitched. Despite having completed the chamomile tea segment, I have no Used Tea Bag. I'm softlocked now as I can't deodorise things with it. It's a real bummer because I didn't realise I was supposed to get it until I checked a walkthrough (I was stuck) and got to 53.3% completed on this save, and now I'm not even certain how the glitch happened.

My only clue is that my laptop ran out of battery while steeping the tea, and my theory is that that somehow prevented me from receiving the tea bag when I restarted the game.

EDIT: Relevant information:
- I started the game again in the second slot, and got the tea bag this time.
- I'm on the Steam version, using Linux.

I also found a dubious workaround: acquire the Free Form Painting, then manually edit the Save.dat file in a hex editor to replace "<0D>Painting_free" with "<0A>UsedTeabag". According to the walkthroughs available online, it isn't used for anything and only exists to allow viewing of the painting. Time will tell if this bites me in the butt in a later puzzle.

Oh sorry to hear about that! Your theory makes sense, that's very unfortunate timing, an interesting hole in our game flow. Your workaround hack sounds like should be safe - I think that painting has no real purpose, but I can't say for sure what might happen if you tried to paint a new one now.

I believe our inventory debug hack should also still be available in the game, which we added as an emergency backup in the case that anyone hit any unforeseen issues with the inventory system. I believe it can be activated by holding the Spacebar key in the crafting bench screen for 10 seconds straight, which then lets you add any item to your inventory - just be careful because you could probably break your game if you over-used that and flooded your inventory with too many items.
