We're a small indie studio looking for a technical 2d pixel artist to upgrade the visuals of our spell system. Currently the spells are more or less static objects (we have particle systems on top of them, to create some vfx). What we want to do is procedurally generate the spell components. The goal would be to make the spells/visuals feel different every time and more alive - a reference we really like is Noita (unlikely we'll generate on a pixel-level though). This procedural ice wall from PoE2 is also a good example of what we're trying to achieve but in 2d pixel art style.
Essentially we need someone to create the art assets for procedurally generated spells as well as help us with designing algorithms for these spells. We are quite experienced on the algorithms side but we do need an artist who can understand these algorithms and bring them to life in our game's art style. Game is developed in Unity.
Expecting this to be a 3-6 month contract, we can be flexible with work hours. Please add me on discord (cooko12) or comment if you're interested - sharing an example/portfolio of your pixel art vfx work would be helpful. Thanks!
