you can share/create/use mods way way easier than manually since using that route you could corrupt the graphics https://github.com/WINRARisyou/SMC-Desktop-Mod-Manager/
corrupting graphics is unfortunately always a possibility, the mod loader just makes mod distribution a lot easier.
