Will there ever be a Linux version? If not, has anybody been able to run the software through WINE?

No linux version, but you can ry with Wine, Paralles,etc... try the demo.

I also would like a Linux version. This is made with Game Maker isn't?

No linux version planed sorry. Too much bugs with file system. For games is ok. But for export/impor files,etc...

So I can run it under WINE, but I have two issues:

  • 100% CPU usage on 1 processor. Pretty common issue on many graphical applications (including games built natively for Linux, not just under WINE). YMMV depending on your graphics card + driver
  • Of course I must save in my WINE file system, but if you know how to get those files back to your Linux drive easily it may not be a problem for you

That’s it. Since no Linux version is planned I’ll switch to Windows when I need to make PFX.

UPDATE: I can actually save my system and export anywhere on my PC, even outside the WINE file system, so that’s more convenient to work with.

The 100% CPU is the biggest issue, I found some clues on Stack Overflow but could never find a proper fix.
