Welcome !
I'm Goblin, and I'm looking for people to help develop a concept that I've been working on for over a year now. So far I have a team of two, consisting of myself and my close friend Dystal, who is helping with the art. The game itself is a visual novel, based heavily off of Your Turn To Die, and other media in the death game genre such as The Circle. The gameplay would include regular vn style choices and reading, with an added 'debate' type element, as you try to convince the other contestants not to vote for you.
Right now we're looking for concept artists, character designers, writers, and developers to help flesh out the concept. My main goal is to create a demo, and then expand from there. People of all experience are welcomed to reach out! I will admit, this is my first attempt at an actual management position for a game, and I'm very new to the community. Also, this is an unpaid position. I'm planning for the game itself to be free, and I don't expect any money to be made off of it. All work will be credited.
Premise:
A group of ten people awaken within the confines of a hospital, and are told that they're being treated. The ailment they have is never disclosed to them, only for the fact that it's something terrible, and they're lucky to be alive. After gaining their strength, they are transferred to a place called 'The Ward', where an enigmatic woman named Dolly ropes the patients into an experimental 'game'.
The game is similar to the party game Mafia, and involves splitting the group into two teams. Red and Blue. Like in mafia, there is a day and night phase. In the night phase, roles are given out and people mingle. This is the "free time" part of the game, where most character development happens. Then, there's the day phase, where people debate who should be voted out. Unlike in Mafia, only one vote matters. That is the one of the detective, who must successfully vote for a person on the other team to die. If they vote correctly, the person on the other team dies. If they're wrong, they die. In the game, you have to lead whoever is playing the role of the detective to the right (or wrong) decision.
