Help [Tiled and RPG Maker MZ]

Hi, i need some help using the plugin [for MV (the other one) and MZ].

As soon as I launch the project via RPG Maker, it either gets a black screen with a spinning animation, or it gives me the error "failed to load" [for the .png image]. I checked the path and also included it in the RPG Maker project files, but nothing seems to work. I have exactly the same problem using the other version of the plugin for RPG Maker MV.

I've been using it for three days, and I can't find anything. There are no tutorials, no help, or no Discord. Could someone help me or give me a link to a support site or Discord, if one exists? I have already bought tilesets but since it does not work, I hesitate before buying others

Thank you,

Hi Zelles,

Yes, there is a Discord server available—you can find the link on our front page.

The Tiled Plugin also includes sample projects that demonstrate its features and how to set it up. The FAQ addresses your specific issue in detail. You can view it here: https://visustella.itch.io/tiledpluginmz/devlog/371284/tiled-plugin-faq

Furthermore, our tilesets are formatted for RPG Maker MV/MZ and are fully compatible with the vanilla engine. The Tiled Plugin is entirely optional and was created for developers who want more control and flexibility over their mapping process.

Additionally, please note that the version of Tiled you are using is important—especially for RPG Maker MV. Tiled MV will not work if your Tiled version is above 1.3.0 and will cause the issue you're experiencing. RPG Maker MZ should not have this limitation. In your case, it sounds like there may be a problem with the JSON and PNG files not being properly set up, or the map file itself may be missing.
