KPOP Idol Manager v1.0

This is where I will keep everyone updated on my KPOP conversion mod. I have a few different things that I would like to complete with v1.0. The most laborious of these would be to complete is the artwork for the idol portraits as well as the events. The next thing is to adjust the current dialogue and events to reflect a Korean company as opposed to Japanese. I have already started on this process. Check out my progress below!

Version 1.0 - Discontinued
Version 2.0 - In Progress

v2.0 Artwork Style

Phase One - v2.0

12 New Idol Poses
- Each Idol will have 20+ Faces chosen at Random
8 Outfits for Each Pose in 2 Color Palettes
3 New Hairstyles for Each Idol in 6 Colors

That is over 100 different combinations of Hair / Clothing for each Idol Pose.

Phase Two: Gameplay Changes (In Progress)

Changing the gameplay from immediately debuting your idols and promoting them to building a cohesive and strong unit to debut.

Starting Cash will be Increased Significantly
Trainee to Debut System / Storylines
Core Gameplay Story Changes
Updated Stats for Every Single Genre, Promotion, Choreography Style, Special Event, etc.

Phase Three: Custom Events (Coming Soon...)

The next step once these things are completed is to launch the custom aspects of the mod to enhance gameplay as a KPOP Idol Group Manager. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them! I currently have an inspiration document going that I am going to use the entire time.

First up will be custom events including but not limited to:
Producer 101, N-MET Awards Shows, Pretty Rapstar, Sasaeng Fan Events, Anti-Fan Events, Mask Singer, KCON, Inki-Gayo Performance, etc

Phase Four: KPOP Scandals (Coming Soon...)

Custom K-Idol scandals including but not limited to:
Dating Scandals, Bribery Scandals, 'Sponsorship' Scandals, Lazy Idol Performance Scandals, Lip-Sync Scandals, etc.

Phase Five: Custom Plots (TBA)

Phase four will be custom dialogues that serve as a KPOP narrative for the game. I am working on a few different plot ideas currently. Let me know what you think I should include! Since this is still far down on my list I have plenty of time to adapt all kinds of stuff.

For the time being I think I will be uploading two version of this mod, one that is focused on a 'girl-crush' type strong sexy image. As well as a more traditional KPOP "cute / sweet" concept. The girl-crush outfits for the idols are what I have already posted here. The more sweet innocent looks are going to be a combination of white/black/pink/floral.

Once the mod tool is updated a bit and I have the option to have the outfits generate randomly I will combine the two different concepts into one mod to where you can just choose to recruit idols with either one of the outfit concepts. And as the game expands and grows I plan to add the option to 'change outfits' from one to the other.

Quick Question! I found out about this mod a long while ago and it was when V1.0 was discontinued and was wondering if V2.0 was discontinued also or is it still being worked on? Sorry if this bothered you or anything of that sort I was just wondering!

Still working hard on the artwork currently. I want there to be tons of variations possible with the idols and am making sure all 12 poses have 3 hair options, and two outfit options.

The original events and dialogues I will be starting on this week.

Looking forward btw. This mod looks like the game is becoming what I wanted it to be initially.

As a further suggestion: Idk if this goes to far and what you can actually mod about the game. But it would be nice if it would focus more on you managing an agency instead of an individual idol group. So you can actually also launch more than one idol group.

But I guess this addition has to be made in the main game.

Anyways, really looking forward to this mod! Would btw also be super nice if you could share for example, some pictures of what you've already done!

Yeah, unfortunately that will be something the creators will have to add to the game before my mod will be able to support multiple groups, etc. But I will post some previews of the artwork this evening for sure. <3

Yes thought so. Hope they'll do it! :D Anyways keep up the good work, looking forward to the previews too. If I can help in any way let me know! I know Photoshop (no drawing tho) and After Effects (mainly 2D Motion Design). I doubt these will be of any help here, but if you'd need something like this let me know. Otherwise I'll just leave my ideas here now and then maybe. :D

Oh and I also have some experience in Korean (Idol) Culture and Korean language, since I have a Korean gf. So I could also help with for example Korean names or something.

I decided not to include any of the faces as they are not all complete, and of course not all of the clothing, poses, hair made it in either. This is just a good portion of what you can expect from the look of the idols and the feeling of the outfits. Colors may vary. Not sure if I will do texture packs by concept, or just do multiple colors that randomize. Still weighing my options there.

Texture Generation Test: July 17th, 2019

Hey guys. Just testing out the textures with the new parameter for the outfits to generate as the "accessory" which was released in the latest update. I thought you may want to check it out and see the results of one of the tests. These results were generated by the game.

Looks great! Now I'm looking forward even more. x) Would recommend to do texturing by concept btw. Like you categorize clothing by concept and inside of the concept you randomize it, so that you get different variations inside of a concept.

Girl Crush, Cute, Sexy, I guess these 3 are the most common that I would do no matter what. If you want more variety and deeper stuff, you can in addition go for stuff like: Women Power/Mature (like Mamamoo), Aesthetic (like Loona), Fairytale (like idk Twice?), Random/Weird (like Orange Caramel), Dark (like Dreamcatcher), Sad (idk maybe like Ladies Code?), Retro (maybe like that new (G)I-DLE comeback? x) ) etc.

I added a reference group for each of them for you.

Oh nice! Is this outfit from the cute category? And did she get it because one of her highest stats is cute? Or is it just randomly generated? Either way its great. Seems like you can get a lot of variety.

Just randomly generated. I put in a few of the skins for a few girls just to test that everything was working with the clothing showing up from the 'accessory' folder and the hair randomly generating. Though in the future I would love to be able to generate certain outfits based on their stats.

Thank you! I am working on it everyday! I am currently in the process of fleshing out the female CEO / Rival character. Once that is done I want to tweak all of the skins one final time to get rid of some inconsistencies in the colors and shadows, etc. Then export them all and do a full test of the mod, so I am pretty much on track for release. Possibly even a little earlier than anticipated? I'll keep you guys updated.

Okay so...idk if you did it already, but I changed all the names in the variables file to Korean names. If you didn't do it already, I would be happy to give you mine, so you could include it in the first realease! For the names I just used common Korean names, names of my Korean friends, real idol names etc. as examples. For the surnames I used the typical common Korean surnames (there are not thaaaaaat many. x) ) And I doubled some of them (like Park, Kim, Lee) so they appear more often (to make it more realistic).

Also, another update. I did some extra work on the costumes and worked up about five different color palettes and each outfit will come in those five different color schemes. All the color schemes work together if you wanted to mix and match them. So I will have a main file with all the textures, and then I will also include in the download each of the color schemes as a stand alone file if you want just one of them and not a varied mixture.

I am going to wait to post any previews of the color schemes until right before the release though! <3 I want to have the next preview be fully in-game.

Here is the preview of the first release. The color palette was inspired by "Itzy - ICY". This is only some of the outfits and hair. I am just working on getting the layers to always show correctly before I release on the 31st! Let me know what you guys think?!

Download Link is up, but I have a few more hairs and things to add this week. So I will be releasing another version next weekend with more hairs colors, and some updated artwork to the menu and the events, etc. But until then enjoy what I have done so far!

Btw! Are you planning to change the genres and that kind of stuff up even more? I saw you did some things to it already and it's awesome. Also the fact that you included Music Video in the marketing strategys is awesome. If you're planning on changing those things even more, maybe I can come up with some ideas.

(I also like the fact that you changed the names of Advertisment brands and Dramas into Korean ones.)

Just wanted to let you know that I am beginning development of Version 2.0! This will be a huge redo of all of the artwork in the above style, along with a few of the added KPOP story elements and everything that was included in V1.0! Stay tuned. Art Update:

Just a handful of Idols done. But I wanted to explain my idea for the second version of the mod. I will be doing multiple iterations of the same outfits, with slight differences. I will be naming the files as follows: < "topname"_"bottomname"_"accessory-yesorno" >

I will be doing different top and bottom combinations, along with accessories. These will all be placed within the accessories folder since there is no "clothing" folder option within the actual games core files. So in essence every idol will always have an accessory, and the accessories will be the outfits. Each idol is going to have a TON of options for outfits because I am making all tops and bottoms separate with the ability to mix and match. Which means there will be ALOT of options to scroll through in the styling menu.

This is the only way I could think to do separates and different combinations of clothing together while still making them editable in the styling menu.

Any other ideas appreciated.

I'm in love with Red Velvet's Bad Boy outfits, they are by far my favourite kpop outfits.

These outfits would be good for a girl crush concept.

Also these, with Seulgi's iconic red pants.

Snsd's outfits for You Think

Then, Twice's iconic outfits for Fancy

And for simpler looking outfits, I think Loona OEC and yyxy would be good example.

I am starting to end the drawing phase. I have three poses left to flush out with hair, clothing, and accessories before I am ready to start exporting everything for the official mod release. So my question to you guys is, do you want to wait for the art until I can get the story additions finished as well? Or should I release v2.0 of the artwork before the full story additions?
