Tactical scale World War 2 turn based strategy game, that puts the player in the role of an Axis or Allied army general. · By
so found your new release and got very excited but after I got a bv on the first mission of the German world campaign on historical difficulty, the second mission. Loaded fine and I got my prototype unit, but all of the enemy units were anti aircraft guns with no other kind of units... Ive seen this issue before in random scenarios, they almost seem to be random flukes... I'm going to try winning the first mission. Again with a bv on same difficulty and see if it happens again and I'll let you know what happens... And I'm playing your browser version using an android phone
Hi Alex
Thanks for a great game. I made an extra donation the other day after playing the game through all of the 4-5 original scenarios. Great job.
A couple of issues
- with the new update 3.2.6 each town has a name label, which is great to help relate to historical battles. It would be great however if you could turn these off. As they obscure units quite severely, making it neccessary to click the unit under the label to read stats on the magnifier panel.
- I guess I am still a newbie, I am still playing all scenarios on the 'operational' setting. When I try to go up to the 'tactical' level it seems that all of the changes compound, making it a really significant jump in difficulty. i.e. starting prestige, turn prestige, AI difficulty, number of turns to brilliant victory (path to free units each round) all change when going up to next difficulty level.
I am not sure whether others struggle moving from operational to tactical but I don't seem to be able to do it with the way each of these changes compounds to make the next level significantly harder. Historical seems a pipe dream??
I would prefer to have more challenging AI, so it would be great to either have an another intermediate level of difficulty or reduce some of the elements that change between these levels of difficulty?
- A quick strategy guide would really help with above point - I read the full Panzer General guide and learnt a lot from that, perhaps a quick guide of how to win would help? I always attack in force with mixed units to kill each units each turn if possible, kill arty and most threatening units asap, avoid unnecessary confrontations, take minimal lossess (generally much less than 20 to 1), take small towns to earn added prestige where possible within BV constraints etc. But still find it difficult to move up ranks.
Thanks again for the game. I'm really enjoying having a new set of campaigns with the 3.2.6 update.

A year ago but I'll still reply. Imo main thing rn that's helping me push through is OP tanks and just rushing to the objectives during hard levels.
OP tanks are extremely key. This game allows you to get some 20 hp tanks that are absolutely brutal. Especially with the "overrun" ability, they are able to take out 5 troops by themselves. During the Novogrod scenario, I got absolutely destroyed the first time through because of the sheer number of troops. I reset myself to Barbossa (or the one before Novogrod, I forgot) and developed one 1000 prestige tank. Starting from the south side, I was able to clear out the majority of the troops with a single tank, as it could overrun everything. Had like 7 turns left over till end of the brilliant victory timestamp.
Second thing is of course, objectives. There are some scenarios that you really just can't beat if you go for all of the mini objectives. Take a few fast moving troops and just rush to the objectives. You can kill off all your auxiliary units, you can be surrounded by enemy troops on all sides at the end, but a victory is a victory lol.
Great game.
Question. Panzer General does have enflicted suppression & casualties game mechanics when attacking. Are the same game mechanics in this game? If so how does it work because I only see 1 set of numbers pop up when attacking an enemy which seems to be only Hp damage or suppression but not both? Hope I make sense.
Panzer Marshal follows closely the Panzer General 2 combat formulas. Even if not displayed the suppressed is computed an casualties depend on that. Both PG2 and PM use suppression only for current unit combat. What PM doesn't have, is the long suppression by tactical bombers, afaik PG2 disabled that one too.
Issues I noticed/suggestions:
Already deployed units on the map cannot be viewed in the menu unless all units have been deployed which can be annoying.
Having a sort by type in the menu for your units on the map would be handy, not just in the buy menu.
Would be nice if there was a unit deselect button other than clicking on a out of range hex or re- clicking on the unit which can be a problem for planes who are already positioned on top of an enemy, which causes an unwanted attack. Hope this makes sense.
Hi
Maybe it's not issue but it's preety interesting.
While playing ''The gates of Warsaw'' scenario after few turns I noticed that I can buy every unit that exist for Germans and Russians. When I started new scenario everything was normal. That issue gave me an idea, for me it would be good to choose that I can buy all units that exists for country in scenario. Can u take a look for it.
