Hey guys my team The House of Monkeys is starting our first game: The Kings Rule. So far the team consists of me, programmer/artist/designer and Jan our writer/designer. We're currently looking for skilled pixel artists, musicians and marketers to join, if you're interest send me a message.  Here's our progress so far feedback is much appreciated.

Concept art by me.

The King’s Rule is a story driven roguelike strategy game, inspired by multiple famous titles and genres. It takes cues from turn-based strategy games and RPGs, and mixes both in subtly. This isn’t a game where you are the hero, or your army is infallible. You play as a petty king, one among many others, and you must fight and claw your way to the top to achieve victory. What that victory is, is for you to decide. There’s more than one way to skin a cat, and there’s more than one way to be marked in history, either for greatness or evil.

Combat takes the form of turn based battles from 1v1 to 300v300. (Large groups represented as stacks). The story will unfold via Yes, Your Highness like game play. The player sees a rendition of the king's hall, the king must speak to his trusted advisors and make the best decisions for his people to survive each month, whether that be wage war or reinforce the castle walls.

Extremely early combat prototype.

Thanks for reading.
