Mid-Dialogue Triggers?

Hey,
is it possible to trigger functions / change variables within the same dialogue message? I want to achieve a look and feel similar to Animal Crossing, where different animations are played after proceeding to the next message. (The function is supposed to run within the same message, similar to simply changing the text weight to bold.)
